I enrolled in a 黑料不打烊 Diploma in an education field and was horrified to discover that the ‘education’ lecturers didn’t follow any of what they were saying made good teaching. Materials were often unintelligible and it was very unclear where readings were, with not even full references or links to documents given. Zero support for students who can’t listen/watch videos. When I asked the support team for help, they led me on a whole other tangent instead of providing information that would have led me directly to what I needed. Thank god I was able to get out before census date, would not recommend this university to anyone.

In reply to B.R.

Im happy you’ve had a good experience B.R…I am in Psychology intro course completely online and I am so disappointed I spent money and time on CSU specifically. The only good thing was the textbook where the actual learning occurs. The uni does not allow AI of any sort and there are numerous posts on online platforms about people getting their whole grade taken away for even SUSPECTED use of AI without any proof of actually using it. The teachers will also remind you constantly not to use it for anything and it creates this crazy amount of stress that students dont need more of.

The lecturer and tutorials were out of date and more stressful than helpful. People in the class were arguing with the lecturer during classes and took away hours of time talking about nonsense and being “offended” by literal science that we paid to learn about…

You have to complete about 2-3 hours of additional modules to get your final grades.

Meanwhile, there are other schools out there that know we will be using tech in our workplaces and embrace it and teach students to use it responsibly and their lectures match the text and so forth. I am so so happy to be done with CSU. I feel like I’ve been completely mislead.

As a current law student at CSU, I can confidently say that it has been the best decision I have ever made in my academic journey. After a horrific experience at Sydney University where I felt like I was drowning in a sea of text book readings, high fail rates, and outdated teaching methods, I decided to make the switch to CSU and I have never looked back.

One of the things that sets CSU apart from other universities is their focus on practical learning. The legal work that we do is real and simulated by practicing solicitors and barristers, giving us a taste of what it’s really like to work in the legal field. The exams are graded by the LPAB, ensuring that we are being assessed by industry professionals who know what they are looking for in a successful law student.

The online learning experience at CSU is also top-notch. With digital textbooks and learning resources provided, I have been able to save on the cost of buying expensive textbooks. The online tutorials and workshops are engaging and informative, and I love that they are available for re-watching whenever I need a refresher. Unlike my experience at Sydney University where information was scarce and hard to access, and given that as of November 2024 Sydney University LEC LAW program, now does 100% exam no assessment along the way, how does an exam prepare you for your career? At least CSU provides all the learning material I need to succeed in my studies and practical experience.

Furthermore, the practical work at CSU goes above and beyond in preparing us for the Practical Legal Training (PLT) in advance. We are equipped with the skills to conduct law reviews, peer reviews, law reform submissions, court trials, defend clients in court cases, and articulate ourselves in the courtroom as a lawyer would. This hands-on experience sets us apart and gives us a competitive edge in the field of law.

Having been to many other online universities in Australia and holding several degrees and diplomas from both online and on-campus institutions, I can confidently say that CSU has delivered far more value to me as a student. Despite some obnoxious teachers I have encountered, the negative experiences aside, I am excelling in this degree because the material is always accessible, easy to follow, and the teachers are available for support through calls and emails at any time.

Overall, CSU has provided me with the tools and resources needed to succeed in my legal studies, and I am grateful for the supportive learning environment that the university offers. Thank you, CSU, for helping me reach my academic goals and preparing me for a successful career in law.

A bit surprised to see the reviews here. My experience has been very good and streamlined with CSU. My experience was so good I decided to study with them twice now!

In reply to A..

I am about to lodge a complaint with the Australian Research Council as the “Research Integrity Unit” cant even refer to correct policy in investigating a typo in a research dissertation, yet their allegations letter has 16 typos, reference to incorrect Research Codes, wrong CSU Policy etc, it just gets wilder

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid
Submitted an honours dissertation 7 months ago (Unit Outline stipulates a return period of both 3 weeks and 6 weeks – cant even make their mind up on that), and 7 months later still no sign of it, Supervisor doesnt care and has wiped his hands of it, Vice Chancellor basically says I will get the mark at some point but cant say when and doesnt care that they cant even follow their own policy. Has cost me a full time job and PhD enrolment at another uni – do yourself a favour and go elsewhere
