My review is for WSU online. Antiquated systems make it very difficult to navigate your way around. After studying at UNE I feel embarrassed for WSU. To get a password reset takes 2 weeks! I am hearing impaired so it’s easier to correspond via email/ electronically. I withdrew due to the fact it took them too long to simply reset a password which pushed me too far behind at the start of semester. Would not recommend online study at all through this institution.

I’ve been at this uni since the start of Covid, and am very very disappointed. They have gradually reduced the library’s opening hours every single year while UNSW has a 24/7 library. They spend millions on marketing but don’t want to keep the library open late or on weekends. The opening hours also constantly change and are unreliable.

The university is so job focused that they waste your time with assignments like “employABILITY” which is like learning to write a resume without any intellectual content. A disgrace for a university.

They don’t like criticism, because criticism from students is seen as disruptive. There is no respect for learning for its own sake, or research for its own sake. Everyone is here for a job, and the teachers have absolutely no curiosity, sense of adventure, or appreciation for education.

The library is too loud, the residences are too loud. It is difficult to find a place to study at times because the library closes too early. The security are eager to go home and close all the buildings earlier than they should.

I am going to transfer to a new uni next semester.
