Did a Bachelor of Social Science with a major in Security and Counter Terrorism from 2018 to 2024. This was with Swinburne Online. I loved it all, there were maybe two bad eLAs but numerous great ones who taught right and marked right. All learning resources were sufficient. Assignment instructions were almost always error-free and comprehensive. I loved the eLAs’ recorded tutorials and spoken assignment instructions, as well as the marking rubric details avaialble that made getting HDs possible. I appealed an assignment mark on perhaps four occasions and got maybe three mark upgrades, either from the eLA or an appeals officer. Any complaint from me such as about marking was always addressed swiftly and professionally. All major final assignments were double marked automatically for all students, ensuring high assessment integrity. Online library was amazing, loved it! Got very high grades by researching widely on that beautiful library database resource. I also loved using Canvas, the online classroom interface. Canvas had student and teacher comments, many of which were essential to review for assignments. I also got a Swinburne equity scholarship of $1000 mid-studies, which was wonderful. Overall one of the best achievements and experiences of my life, getting this degree. Highly recommend this university.

I’m currently studying my ���ϲ����� Diploma of Early Childhood Teaching. I have found this experience challenging, not just academically, but also in dealing with the administrative team at Swinburne. Throughout the course, there have been many inconsistencies and changes to the placement requirements, often occurring midway through a quarter. As of today, they have made two changes to the placement requirements, even after confirming them with my supervising teacher. This has left me feeling confused, lost, and stressed.
When I’ve sought clarification from some staff members, I’ve sometimes felt that their responses were condescending, as though my questions were unwelcome or that I was being perceived as unintelligent. I am committed to becoming a better educator, but I feel that this course has not equipped me with the right tools to become an Early Childhood Teacher. It’s affecting my confidence daily, to the point where I no longer see myself as an ECT, I would rather remain an assistant educator.
My local tutor has been amazing though as she has always been helpful and will answer any of my questions.

Since finishing my undergraduate degree at Swinburne I have tried a couple of other universities for postgraduate courses. With this experience, Swinburne far exceeds those subsequent universities in terms of content and delivery. Back to Swinburne for my postgrad so I can feel like I’m actually supported and can achieve my goals.
